Kerrville, Texas

Kerrville offers two museums:

The Hill Country Museum pictured to the left is located in the restored Victorian mansion of pioneer Capt. Charles Schreiner and houses beautiful antiques that portray the affluent lifestyle enjoyed during the Hill Country's early days.

Also in Kerrville is the Museum of Western Art which follows in the art styles of Remington and Russell in celebrating the memories of the Old West.

James Avery Craftsmen

In 1954, James Avery started his jewelry business in a two-car garage with about $250 in capital.

In 1957, he mailed his first Christian jewelry catalog. It was 16 pages and featured 39 items, all handmade.

Today the company headquarters is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country not too far from that original garage.
