Mendenhall Glacier

The glacier extends for 12 miles from the Juneau Icefield to Mendenhall Lake. The ice from the glacier flows forward a rate of 2 feet per day. The glacier was formed during the Little Ice Age, which began about 3,000 years ago.

Alaska Tour companies often combine a float trip of Mendenhall Glacier with a salmon bake on the beach!
