Many do not think of Indians when they think of Ohio. Maybe they should

Ohio was the home of the Seneca, the Iroquois, the Mohegan, the Allegany, the Buffalo, the Tonawanda, the Cattaraugus, the Complantar, the Mingo, the Chippewa, the Shawnee, the Erie, the Kickapoo, the Delaware, the Miami, the Ottawa, the Wyandot, and others.

Most Native Americans were forced to leave Ohio during the Indian Removals of the 1800's. These tribes are not extinct, but except for the descendants of Ohio Indians who escaped from Removal, they do not live in Ohio anymore.
