Lookout Mountain Battlefield and National Park
Near Chattanooga

At the south central border of Tennessee rises Lookout Mountain. There you will find high bluffs and hills that were the site of one of the crucial battles of the Civil War. Now it is crested by peaceful parks and beautiful homes that look down upon the curves of the Tennessee River and Moccasin Bend and over the city of Chattanooga.

Prichard's Distillery

This is the little distillery that is going strong, so strong that you will have difficulty purchasing their products. They sell all they make and rapidly. They have two distilling pots and four products to produce in their barm operation. The bottling is done by hand right down to the application of the ribbon and seal on the bottle. Their Sweet Lucy is highly regarded as is their Cranberry Rum. I'm told that to find their Key Lime Rum you'll have to go to Key West.

Pigeon Forge

Yes, it's the home of Dollywood. And it is one of the most competitive and over the top group of discount, specialty, and outlet mini-malls ever to congregate in one place. Name what you want to shop for. Expect to exit with it and much, much more. This attention-getter called Wonderworks is right on the main drag 441 between Sieverville and Gatlinburg.

The Parthenon
Centennial Park

The full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon is at the center of Centennial Park in downtown Nashville. A 42-foot statue of Athena was built at it's center just as once a statue of Athena graced the Parthenon of Ancient Athens.

It was built in 1897 for the Centennial Exposition, and is now a city Art Museum as well as a magnificent structure to experience. Inside are copies of the actual marbles cast from the original Elgin Marbles that adorned the Greek Parthenon 400 years B.C.

George A. Dickel & Co.

In a little valley between the hills all covered with green grass and trees, there by the stream is a little distillery pretty and neat as can be. The red brick and plain wood buildings create a setting of quality and simplicity that identifies its product and symbolizes the pride of its employees.

Despite being part of the big conglomerate Diageo and in 180 countries around the world, Dickel remains true to what made it so highly regarded.
