Manitoba, Canada

Arctic Polar Bear Tours

A tourist once complained to me that there were not many polar bears in Alaska. I told her to go to Churchill, Manitoba. Those bears just do not honor international boundaries. You can be quite assured of seeing a lot of them during there. Amble food, access to the waters of Hudson Bay, and lots of other bears to play with -- that's were they went.

Winter Wonderland

Manitoba is home to Canada’s clearest skies year-round, and has a reputation for bitterly cold, harsh winters.

It is the easternmost of the prairie provinces. The northern half is Arctic air. The southern half is open prairie and the wind does blow.

The intersection of Portage and Main streets in the capital, Winnipeg, has been called the windiest place in Canada.
