Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia or New Scotland

Almost an island, but barely connected to New Brunswick by an Isthmus, Nova Scotia is a founding province of Canada.

It is known for its high tides, lobster, fish, blueberries and apples.

Pictured to the left is the lighthouse at St. John's on the rocky Atlantic coast.

Cape Breton Island

This large island is offshore to the north of mainland Nova Scotia and is a popular tourist area.

You will find the Mi’Kmaq Native Indian Reserve, Whale watching, picturesque villages, a national park, and the famous Cabot drive pictured here.

The circular loop is 185 miles in length and may be started anywhere and driven in either direction. It is considered one of the most beautiful drives in the world.
