Regina, Capital of Saskatchewan

The city is situated on a broad, flat, treeless and largely waterless plain — at the time of its founding.

Early planners began by damming the nearby creek to create a decorative lake to the south of the central business district. They then constructed the elaborate 840-foot long Albert Street Bridge across the new lake. Trees soon followed.

Today Regina has a population 176,000.
