Saskatchewan Farms

The average size of their farms is about 2,000 acres. In the United States the average size is 1,033 acres. In China farms are 1 to 3 acres. The farms of Saskatchewan are said to extend as far as the eye can see.

Wheat, oats, flaxseed, and barley are grown. Meat processing is the largest industry followed by dairy production.

Regina, Capital of Saskatchewan

The city is situated on a broad, flat, treeless and largely waterless plain — at the time of its founding.

Early planners began by damming the nearby creek to create a decorative lake to the south of the central business district. They then constructed the elaborate 840-foot long Albert Street Bridge across the new lake. Trees soon followed.

Today Regina has a population 176,000.
